beautiful veiholmen
Veiholmen is unforgettable
Just when you think you've reached the end of the road at Smøla's municipal center, Hopen, you’ll continue driving nearly nine kilometers further out to sea. The road winds past and over small islands and reefs. We call it the original Atlantic Road!

VEiholmen and smøla
The fishing village of Veiholmen is located at the northernmost point of Smøla municipality, almost 10 kilometers out to sea. Smøla consists of 5,800 islets and reefs, and Veiholmen sits at the very edge. The village has around 400 permanent residents, but in summer, it buzzes with life. This is the perfect destination for those who love to enjoy life!
Here you’ll find everything from art and culture to hiking, kayaking, sea eagle safaris, and RIB boat tours in the beautiful archipelago surrounding the island. Be sure to check out Smøla Naturopplevelser and Opplev Veiholmen—there’s always something to do! You'll find restaurants, cafés, museums, galleries, and grocery stores nearby, providing everything you might need.
Or you can simply just be in the moment. The nature surrounding you brings a sense of calm. There's no better place to recharge your batteries. The autumn storms are a powerful experience, and the Northern Lights often appear between September and April. So even though summer is the peak season, every season offers its own unique experiences.
We are looking forward to welcoming you!
